Gifted Education
Gifted education is under the umbrella of special education. When a student is identified as a “gifted learner”, they are identified as having an educational need to be taught differently. VCS offers gifted services in grades 3-12. Gifted students in grades 3-5 participate in a program that includes both push-in and pull out services with a Gifted Intervention Specialist. Gifted students in grades 6-8 participate in a program that includes accelerated and specialized courses taught by a Gifted Intervention Specialist. High school students identified as gifted have the opportunity to take Honors, AP, and CCP classes.
