House System

This summer, our Intermediate teachers had the incredible opportunity to visit the Ron Clark Academy in Georgia, where they experienced innovative strategies designed to increase student engagement, achievement, and school culture. Inspired by what we learned, we are bringing several of these strategies back to Valley Christian Schools Intermediate—including the implementation of our very own House System.

While our House System was inspired by the Ron Clark Academy model, we made it uniquely Valley Christian. Rather than using the Ron Clark Academy houses, we created our own houses around Biblical characters, Scripture, and Christ-centered characteristics that we want to see reflected in the lives of our students and staff. Our goal is for each house to build relationships across grade levels, strengthen school community, encourage positive behavior, and inspire students to pursue excellence.

House Systems have been associated with increased student engagement, improved behavior, stronger school culture, and academic growth. At VCS Intermediate, we are praying that our House System will accomplish even more—that it will help students grow not only academically and socially, but also in their walk with Jesus. We want our students to live out the Biblical characteristics represented by their houses and encourage one another to become who God has called them to be.

Together, we are committed to our VCS vision: Love More. Expect More. Be More. We are excited to watch our houses grow, our community strengthen, and our students discover that when we work together and keep Christ at the center, we can accomplish more than we ever could alone.
