WELCOME BACK, VCS FAMILIES!

We are so excited to welcome our students and families back for a new school year! We are looking forward to a year filled with learning, growth, faith, friendships, and opportunities to EXPECT MORE.

Thank you for partnering with us as we work together to help our students grow academically, spiritually, and personally.

A PRAYER FOR OUR STUDENTS

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for bringing our students back together for another school year. Bless each student as they begin a new year filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and discover the gifts You have given them.

Give them confidence when they feel uncertain, courage when things are difficult, patience when they are frustrated, and kindness toward one another. Help them make wise choices, treat others with respect, and always strive to give their best.

Bless their classrooms with peace and their teachers with wisdom and patience. Help our students build friendships that encourage them, stand up for what is right, and be a positive light to those around them.

Protect our students as they travel to and from school and throughout each day. Keep them safe, healthy, and surrounded by people who care for them.

Remind every student that they are known, loved, valued, and created with a purpose. Help them understand that success is not just about grades, but about becoming the person You have called them to be.

As this school year begins, help our students approach each day with joy, courage, curiosity, and faith. May they grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Place Your hand of protection and blessing over our students, their families, teachers, and staff. May this be a year of growth, friendship, discovery, and abundant blessings.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

WHAT FAMILIES NEED TO KNOW

ARRIVAL & TARDINESS

The tardy bell rings at 7:24 AM.

Please plan for your student to arrive by 7:15 AM, so they have time to enter the building, get settled, and be ready for first period.

Thank you for helping us start each school day on time!

ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL SAFETY

Please help us keep everyone safe!

  • During arrival and dismissal, pull all the way forward in the half circle to keep traffic moving. Thank you to those pulling forward!

  • Do not drop students off on the street. Buses and cars come from multiple directions, and student safety is our top priority.

  • Thank you for following staff directions and helping us maintain a safe, efficient dismissal process.

Early Pickup

For the safety of our students and to ensure a smooth dismissal:

Students cannot be released between 1:45 and 2:20 PM.

If you need to pick up your student early, please arrive before 1:45 PM.

Please remember that early pickup will count against attendance because your student will miss part of their 9th-period class.

Changing Your Child's Dismissal

If your child is changing from bus to car rider or car rider to bus, please call the office at:

Changes must be made by 1:45 PM, so Mrs. Minnow has time to update KIDaccount.

Thank you for helping us keep the dismissal area clear for buses and ensuring a safe end to the school day!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

Regular attendance makes a difference!

Every student in Ohio is expected to attend school every day unless they are sick or otherwise legally excused. Regular attendance is connected to important outcomes such as academic achievement, reading proficiency, and graduation.

Our goal: Every student, every day, by 7:24 AM!

If your child is absent, please provide the office with a note, email, or phone call when they return so we can properly document the absence.

For absence excuses, please contact:

 EdChoice Reminder

Please be aware that attendance requirements are also connected to EdChoice scholarship eligibility. Families should carefully monitor their student's attendance and make every effort to ensure absences are properly documented and excused.

UNIFORM DONATIONS NEEDED!

Do you have VCS uniforms at home that your child has outgrown?

Please consider donating them to the school!

Donated uniforms help us provide students with a change of clothes when needed during the school day.

For uniform questions, please contact:

Dolph Carroll dcarroll@vcsohio.org
