Hello VCS Families,
We are so excited to have students back on Monday. We are praying for this to be an amazing school year.
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. — Psalm 1:1-2

Glow Dance Party Celebration! To celebrate the end of our Booster Fundraiser, we’re throwing a Glow Dance Party!
Parents are invited to join us on 9/26 from 12:30–2:00 PM for a free lunch and the chance to watch — or even join — their students on the dance floor.
We can’t wait to celebrate together!
Join us at Highway Tabernacle for an outdoor service in Austintown on September 21st at 10:00. They will have FREE food, inflatables, a petting zoo, and more.
Thank you for your patience with arrival and dismissal. With more students, we have more car riders, and we are adapting to support all the cars, which worked much better yesterday.
Please pull all the way forward in the half circle during arrival and dismissal to keep traffic moving smoothly. For safety, do not drop students off on the street—buses and cars come from multiple directions, and we want to keep everyone safe.
If you have uniforms at home that no longer fit your child, please consider donating them to our school. This helps change students if needed during the school day.
Every student in Ohio needs to attend school every day. Attendance studies routinely show the connection between regular attendance and critical school measures such as reading proficiently, performing well academically, and graduating from high school. Please ensure your child is here every day by 7:24 unless they are sick. If a student misses school, you must send a note/email/phone call to the office when they return with a valid excuse for the absence to be excused. Any students on the EdChoice scholarship with 20 unexcused absences will lose their scholarship from the State of Ohio. Email excuses to Amanda Minnow at aminnow@vcsohio.org.
Friendly Reminder:
For the safety of our students and smooth dismissal, we are unable to release students between 1:45–2:20 PM.
If you need to pick up your student early, please arrive before 1:45 PM. Keep in mind that early pickups at this time will count against attendance since students miss part of their 9th-period class.
Thank you for helping us keep the dismissal area clear for buses and ensuring a safe end to the school day!
Please check FACTS daily to review your student’s behavior, academics, and attendance. If you do not have an account, please follow this link to set one up:https://www.vcsohio.org/facts.
If you are changing your child’s dismissal method, i.e., from bus to car rider or car rider to bus, please call the office at 330-788-8088 by 1:45 pm to ensure Mrs. Minnow can make the changes in KIDaccount.
Amanda Minnow’s number is 330-788-8088 ext. 1101 or aminnow@vcsohio.org.
Please reach out to Dolph Carroll for any uniform questions at dcarroll@vcsohio.org.
Please check our Website for other relevant information: https://www.vcsohio.org/
We also have an Intermediate Facebook and Instagram page:
As a reminder, the tardy bell rings at 7:24. Please ensure your student is at school by 7:15 to be ready for 1st period.
A legal parent or guardian must accompany any Intermediate students attending all games/activities, either home or away. In addition, we will call parents or guardians to pick up their students if they try to attend a game/activity on their own.
Please do not drop your student off on the street in the morning. Instead, please pull into the half-circle to release your student so we can ensure their safety.
Please pull up further in the half-circle so more cars can fit at arrival and dismissal.
