Teacher Spotlight: Mr. Jandrokovic

This week’s teacher spotlight is Mr. Jandrokovic, high school digital visual arts, graphic design, and media production teacher.
Q: How many years have you been teaching at VCS?
A: This is my 8th year.
Q: What are some other things you attend at VCS other than teaching?
Intermediate Art Club, eSports, and the VCS News. I am also the Marketing and Design Director for VCS.
Q: What is your favorite memory at VCS?
A: Taking the boy's track team to Columbus and watching them win at state for the first time in VCS history. We had so much fun on that trip, and watching them win and make history was just incredible.
Q: What college did you attend?
A: I attended Kent State University for my Bachelor's degree and Kutztown University for my M.F.A.
Q: Do you have any advice for seniors on starting their future?
Start working, go to trade school or college right out of high school. Find what you love to do.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Seafood or steak
Q: What is your favorite song/music?
A: Song is Southern Cross by Crosby, Stills, & Nash. Country Music and Jimmy Buffett.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Fishing, pickleball, darts, graphic design, watching movies, and being by a pool or beach
Q: What is the biggest pet peeve of students?
A: Not completing assignments, especially when class time is given to complete them.
Q: If you weren't a teacher, what other path would you have chosen?
A: Barber, chef, or I always wanted to own a restaurant.
Q: Do you have any favorite VCS News classes throughout the years?
A: I have favorite memories of each year, I love that the students this year want to go out and film each day to make news segments.
Q: What are you most passionate about?
A: I am very passionate about helping students find their own creativity. If I can light a passion in a student to find their love for design or art, that is what makes me love what I do.
