Mrs. Kinker is incredibly kind and always has a warm word for everyone she meets. Students know they can count on her for support and a friendly smile, and she consistently goes above and beyond to help others. She also stays organized and on top of her work, helping everything run smoothly behind the scenes. Her warmth and dedication truly make a positive impact on everyone around her.
Where did you grow up? I grew up in Tallmadge, Ohio.
What’s your favorite high school memory?
My favorite high school memory is hanging out with my friends—and sometimes even skipping class.
Do you have a favorite book, movie, or TV show? If so, what and why?
My favorite movie is The Hundred-Foot Journey. It’s about cooking and family, and it has a lot of humor. Everyone should watch it.
Have students changed your perspective on life?
If so, how? Yes, a great deal. Working with students has helped me realize what school must have been like for my own children, and I wish I had been more understanding at times.
How do you define a “successful” school year?
Not making any major mistakes—like sending a text to every single Central Campus parent saying their student is absent. (I actually did that when I first started!)
What did you want to be when you were younger?
When I was younger, I wanted to grow up and be a mom.
What’s something you’re passionate about outside of school?
I’m passionate about making sure kids are safe.
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
Most people don’t know that my heart is actually softer than I sometimes let on.
What’s a place you’ve visited that you’d recommend to everyone?
I would recommend visiting Alaska.
Do you collect anything or have any quirky interests?
I don’t really collect anything or have any quirky interests. I’d say I’m pretty boring in that way.
What’s the best trip or vacation you’ve ever taken?
The best trip I’ve ever taken was to Alaska. The wildlife and scenery there were absolutely amazing, and I even have pictures from the trip.
Do you have a favorite holiday or season? Which one and why?
I love the fall. It reminds me of when I was a kid going back to school and when my own kids were heading back to school. It’s very nostalgic.
Do you enjoy cooking or baking? Any favorite dishes?
I enjoy baking during Christmas, especially Russian Tea Cakes and Buckeyes.
